Building Diverse Talent

To tackle the world鈥檚 most complex challenges, we attract, hire, and develop talented people of all backgrounds, and ensure inclusivity and fairness in our sourcing, interview and hiring processes. Through our partnerships with nonprofit organizations and universities, we offer robust internships, graduate development programs and volunteer opportunities that help give underserved populations access to STEAM education.

In the summer of 2022, we piloted an early career development program called the Summer Design Fellowship in Detroit, Michigan.  Partnering with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL), the goal of the program is to encourage and foster diverse talent beginning at the university level through mentoring and creating growth opportunities in leadership, professional development, and skill building for the next generation of talent.

鈥淲e are focused on diversity in the practice of architecture and (the) built environment in general. We put forth an effort to make sure that we hire diversity at all levels and strengthen our talent and teams with diverse individuals.鈥

Expanding Understanding

To help every employee feel valued and included, we鈥檙e creating an inclusive workplace through community-building, training and family-friendly benefit policies. We conduct regular employee surveys and 鈥渞eal talk鈥 discussions to understand our employees鈥 experiences and provide a forum for deeper understanding and empathy. Our employee resource groups create a sense of belonging and lead community outreach, and strategic mentorships promote ongoing dialogue and heightened awareness.

For Pride 2023, we celebrated with a one-of-a-kind, unifying event that truly represented how we Think and Act Globally. Our Pride Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) got together to create 24 hours of informative and interactive programming spanning across Americas, Asia, Europe and India, and Australia and New Zealand.聽Additionally, several of our ERGs participated in Pride parades in their local communities, including Dallas Pride and Dublin Pride.聽Our Pride chapters regularly partner with other ERGs to promote intersectionality and allyship and hold educational sessions to highlight diverse perspectives to ensure all colleagues feel seen and heard.

Enriching Communities

Our Blueprint for a Better World platform reflects our responsibility to champion equity, diversity and inclusion in our communities through pro-bono work, volunteerism, philanthropy and strategic partnerships with global nonprofit organizations like Engineers Without Borders and Water for People. We deepen our engagement with communities through our commitment to supplier diversity, providing leadership to ensure that diverse-owned businesses are supported and successful.

 

Our Blueprint Travel Grant program supports employees making service-based trips around the world in partnership with charitable organizations.

鈥淭hanks to 万度视频鈥檚聽Blueprint Travel Grant, I was able to take part in an outreach project in Uganda 鈥 a project near and dear to my heart because I am South African by birth and Ugandan by descent. With five other 万度视频 employees, I joined the WeDev NPO team to help an orphanage on the remote Zinga Islands collect, analyze and purify drinking water.鈥

Thinking Without Limits

Fostering equity, diversity and inclusion can鈥檛 be done in a silo. By cultivating a workforce that more closely represents our clients and the communities we serve, we are able to better anticipate and respond to their needs. Further, we prioritize the social impact and benefits of equity, diversity and inclusion, factoring in these considerations into every project we pursue and the innovative solutions we deliver.

Intuit Dome, the home of the NBA鈥檚 LA Clippers opening in 2024, goes beyond the game to the positive impact pro sports can and should have on team鈥檚 communities.

The Intuit Dome was designed to be environmentally conscious by having natural ventilation and enough battery and solar energy to power an entire basketball game or concert. The arena will also create thousands of full- and part-time construction jobs and more permanent full and part-time jobs when the complex opens.

鈥淚ntuit Dome comes with a community benefits package worth an unprecedented US$100 million to benefit the local community. The majority of the funds are dedicated to affordable housing, and the commitment also includes funds for youth and family programs that will help provide student scholarships, after-school programs, library upgrades and services for senior citizens.鈥
